Transmission 3.00 for those who still use torrents

The torrents have not disappeared and there is still a large community around this type of file sharing. In macOS, one of the most popular tools for “downloading” torrents is Transmission. However, this is also a tool widely used in other operating systems, such as Windows and Linux. So, and after a long time without a major update, a new version now arrives.

Version 3.00 brings some news and, above all, many improvements. Let's get to know this fantastic tool.

Transmit 3.00 image to improve the use of torrents

This is a client for BitTorrent, launched in 2005. This software has the privilege of being developed in open source and available for different platforms - including Windows, macOS and Linux. Thus, for years, Transmission has largely supported all the essential common functions of a BitTorrent client, which may not bring major innovations in this version. Even so, it brings a lot of news when it comes to improvements and corrections.

But what's new?

There are so many that we better see in the general description. However, we would say that this release allows the RPC server to listen to an IPv6 address, which now limits the number of incorrect authentication attempts on the embedded Web server to 100 to prevent brute force attacks, improves the handling of ToS over IPv6 connections, improves the execution of completion and error handling scripts; adds support for .cmd and .bat files on Windows.

But there is more, much more. For macOS more specifically, it brings Dark Mode support, removes Growl support, the notification center is always used, adds transition to ARC, etc ...

Transmission 3.00 - what's new?
